Program Director, Parallax Advanced Research

Ian Haynes is a Program Director with Parallax Advanced Research supporting a defense innovation program within their Strategic and Technology Based Partnerships portfolio. Prior to joining Parallax in September 2025, Ian was a Program Manager with Tatitlek Technologies, Inc in support of the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) and its former component, the National Security Innovation Network (NSIN). As a Program Manager, Ian focused on the intersection of defense and academia through a program that matched highly talented undergraduate and graduate students with operational military commands to deliver rapid, early-stage prototypes, that helped solve Department of War problems.

Ian is also a member of the New York Air National Guard where he currently serves as the Director of Operations for the 152d Combat Operations Squadron. His responsibilities include organizing, training and equipping Guardsmen to augment the 603d Air Operations Center (AOC) at Ramstein Air Base, Germany. He joined the 152d in 2015 and has filled multiple roles in both combat plans and combat operations at the 603d as well as many liaison roles supporting Headquarters Air Force, the United States European Command and United States Naval Forces Europe.

Prior to joining the 152d, Ian spent 10 years on active duty in the United States Air Force, primarily flying on the Joint Surveillance Target Attack Radar System (JSTARS) or serving in Canada with North American Aerospace Defense (NORAD). He has deployed in support of Operations ATLANTIC RESOLVE, ENDURING FREEDOM, IRAQI FREEDOM and NOBLE EAGLE, and holds a Senior Air Battle Manager Aeronautical Rating with more than 1000 total and 300 combat flying hours.

Ian has Master of Arts in Public Policy from The Ohio State University, a Master of Arts in National Security Studies from American Military University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Oberlin College.
