Brian K. Shonk, Ed.D.

Chancellor, University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville

Dr. Brian K. Shonk serves as Chancellor of the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville (UACCB), a position he has held since January 2022. He joined UACCB in 2013 as Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and has provided leadership in academic program development, student success, and institutional growth.

Under his leadership, UACCB launched its Farm and Ranch Management (FARM) program, with the inaugural cohort beginning in August of 2026. Dr. Shonk has been closely involved in the design and implementation of this modern agricultural curriculum, reflecting his strong commitment to preparing the next generation of farmers and ranchers. He views agricultural education as one of the nation’s most critical priorities for food security and rural economic development.

Prior to joining UACCB, Dr. Shonk held progressive leadership roles at Northwest Florida State College, including Dean of Career and Technical Education, Dean of Mathematics, Science, Health and Safety, and Director of the Public Safety Division. He holds a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and a Master of Public Administration from the University of West Florida, along with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Troy University.

Dr. Shonk is actively engaged in regional and statewide initiatives supporting education, workforce development, and community advancement.
