Pete Haga

Vice President of Partnerships, Thread

Pete Haga is Vice President of Partnerships at Thread, a North Dakota-based technology company transforming how utilities manage and act on asset condition data. Thread’s UNITI platform serves as an asset-centric data management workspace, designed to centralize and standardize information from diverse sources — drones, LiDAR, imagery, GIS, and enterprise systems. By orchestrating this data into a unified foundation, UNITI helps utilities drive smarter decisions in grid modernization, predictive maintenance, wildfire mitigation, vegetation management, and broader resilience initiatives.

In his role, Pete leads Thread’s ecosystem strategy, building partnerships with engineering firms, drone service providers, and AI innovators to extend the impact of UNITI. His work focuses on aligning technology with the practical realities of utility operations, helping organizations move beyond siloed datasets to a shared source of truth that unlocks long-term value.

Before joining Thread, Pete directed communications and community relations for the City of Grand Forks, ND, where he collaborated with elected officials and diverse stakeholders to deliver solutions that balanced policy, operations, and public trust. This experience sharpened his ability to listen, connect, and find win-win opportunities — skills he now applies in guiding partnerships across the rapidly evolving technology landscape.

A Grand Forks and North Dakota native, Pete believes the local community and state have a unique opportunity to lead in autonomy and AI. He brings both local roots and a forward-looking vision, emphasizing that real innovation comes not only from technology, but from embedding it into workflows and partnerships that last.
