Dr. Tom Clausen received his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from the University of North Dakota and completed his Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Minnesota. His graduate research focused on polymer science. After joining 3M in the Corporate Research Process Laboratory in 1992, he has had many assignments in research and development. His most recent role in a 3M division was to lead a global team commercializing products for customers in the electronics business. He is currently the Senior Laboratory Director for our computational sciences pillar in 3M’s Corporate Research Systems Lab focusing on modeling, machine learning and extreme mechanical testing.
