Rebecca (Becky) Taylor is Executive-In-Residence and Interim Executive Director at the Austin Technology Incubator (ATI). ATI is the longest running technology incubator in the United States (formed in 1989), affiliated with The University of Texas at Austin. Its portfolio is focused on Sustainability (Clean energy, ag/food tech, water and circular economy) and healthcare technology. It is currently adding a microelectronics focus to its portfolio.

Becky is also an Executive-In-Residence affiliated with the Cockrell School of Engineering at UT-Austin, teaching a course on commercialization of research to graduate and undergraduate students. She serves as an Industry Fellow at UT Austin’s Ethics Project. A senior level executive with 35 years’ experience inventing new technologies, forming startups, building teams and raising funds, she has led advanced development and strategy efforts at organizations from very small start-up companies to large multinationals and senior advisory roles at the U.S. Department of State. Becky currently focuses on advising technology companies on strategy and funding.

Becky is an inventor and multiple patent holder, who created technology that makes your phone smarter.

She is a Senior Member of IEEE, holds a BS in Computer Science from Iowa State University and a Master of Public Affairs from the UT Austin LBJ School of Public Policy.

Becky is a past Vice President for Government Relations with IEEE-USA, and served as an IEEE Diplomacy Fellow in 2011-2013 time frame, serving at the U.S. Department of State.

She is certified as a Winemaker by the University of California – Davis. She spends as much time as possible with her son, daughter-in-law, and 1-year-old granddaughter. She lives in Austin, Texas.
